Today is the official release day for (I love it when you call me) Baby feat. Annika Norlin!!! the song will be available thru all conventional digital media stores. you can also listen to it on spotify and youtube. these glory days!!

2010 may 5 - release day set for BABY!
yes, dear friends. finally things are happening! after many trials and tribulations i'm back on track and about to let the world hear my music again. on may 26 i'm releasing the new song (I love it when you call me) Baby feat. Annika Norlin (from Säkert! and Hello Saferide). It's a digital release and it will be available worldwide for download in a online music shop near you! The release also include a remix of the song "I love you a bit more for everyday that passes" made by wonderful Little Big Adventure!

The song is the second single from the upcoming album "The Gospel as written and performed by Juni Järvi" due to release in the beginning of september. The album will include singing by Markus Krunegård, lots och strings and horns and a full scale gospel choir. Magic!

2009 may 10 - percussion-mania
this weekend was spent recording in swedish percussion-pioneers kroumata's rehearsel room/stage. percussionist magician Pontus Langendorf was kind enough to lend me his time and skill to record such magnificent instruments such as marimba, tubular bells, timpani and much, much more on my album. you'll hear part of the result on the upcoming single Looking at you is like looking at the sun released on may 29. needles to say, it is magic recorded on disc.

2009 may 1 - horns!
i know, i know. i should have spent the day waving flags, marching and yelling stuff. but i didn't. instead i had the talents of Staffan Findin and David Bryntesson over to record the final parts of the horns. one word: lovely!

2009 april 6 - grand piano and strings
WHAT A WEEKEND! gorgeously talented Anna Holm was generous beyond imagination and let me borrow her apartment and her steinway baby grand over the weekend. as you can imagine, the days were spent trying to catch the sound from the grand. and somehow i also managed to record strings with Hanna Ekström and Anna Dager. do i have to say it is and sounds fantastic!!!

2009 march 27 - "..and the orchestra begins to make a sound, that goes round and round and round"
tonight we've recorded strings for the song Don't read the letter in my friend Axel Bellinders studio. Anna Holm, Ketil Solberg and Johan Klint helped me out in recording beautiful strings.

2009 march 22 - frech horn and trombone
i'm so lucky that people want to help me out in the making of my upcoming grand album! today i had Ida Freij on french horn and Staffan Findin on trombone in my studio. they made those instrument sound sad and joyful at the same time. pure magic.

2009 march 21 - the ensemble
i met up with Anna Holm, Ketil Solberg and Johan Klint, bought them coffee and then lured them into my studio. a few hours later we had recorded strings on Looking at you is like lokking at the sun and Whatever lover do.

2009 february 21 - the beat, the rhythm
it's strange how one instrument can change the whole chracter on a song. today Mattias Andersson came by the studio to record acoustic bass on Looking at you is like looking at the sun and Whatever lovers do and i can't understand how i even could consider not recording it!! it's like nothing i ever heard...

2008 dec 4 - i want to borrow you!
i'm in need of your help! i'm currently looking around for musicians who are willing to lend me their talent to complete my forthcoming masterpiece album. in particular am i interested in people who can make use of the violin (foremost classical, but also folk music players), trumpet, trombone and horn. and i wouldn't mind if anyone knows how to handle tubular bells, timpani or xylophone for that matter. so if you or anyone you know play any of these instruments, live near stockholm and want to help me create beatiful music don't hesitate! contact me asap!

2008 sept 11 - markus krunegård + juni järvi = true!
yes, indeed! markus is kind enough to lend me his voice for a duett. the song is called love is stonger than steel and it already features a full gospel choir. as i'm sure you can imagine, it sounds grandiose!

2008 jun 19 - hi there
just wanted to let you know i'm still here, working on the new album. so far i've more or less finished about 6-8 songs so we're getting closer. and i will make a live show i stockholm too, in july. It's an arty performance on a big litterature festival. we'll be standing on the balcony's of stockholms city library, a huge building. it's going to great. oh, and there's no charge so if you're in sthlm by any chance, drop by 'aight!

2008 mar 3 - music in the movies
i'm making the music for the motion picture Pojktanten starring Eli Levén. The film is made by director Ester Martin Bergsmark who has made experimental documentarys such as Svälj (Swallow) and most recently, in theatres soon, Maggie vaknar på balkongen (Maggie in wonderland).

today rainbow gospel stockholm came to the studio and recorded an á capella version of the song love is stronger than steel. it was a warm, sweety and exciting session! you will hear the result on the new album.

2007 dec 12 - recording new album
i have been recording the new album since late spring this year. it has the working title have i ever told you i love you?. so far, i have half the album more or less done. and i have one song from the new album on the spanish compilation souvenir desde umeå, released by the fine collective fikasound.

there is no release date set for the new album yet, i'm looking at different ways of releasing at the moment.

2007 oct 9 - U.S. release!!!!!!!!!
dear reader,
time has come for me to gaze at the sunset over the atlantic, to wonder what lays ahead, to boldly go where i have never gone before. yes, it is time to let the people across the wide and deep ocean of the atlantic know of me and my music. it is time to go west, to the land of opportunities. oh yes, it is time for the north american release of my debut album wherever thou art!!! today we celebrate. tomorrow we shall overcome.

ok! enough with big words. yes, today on october 9, the album is released on u.s. label saltwater records. you can get it in stores and on cdbaby.

2007 feb 7 - i'm not dead
and i haven't quit music either as some seem to think. i'm very much alive i daresay. though i really have to find a smoother and easier way to update this page. is there anyone out there who's good in web designing and want to help out? i'm thinking of doing it in blog form..

anyway. i've been busy releasing wherever thou art in finland and norway. release date is set to march 8. and i will also go on a small finnish tour to promote the release. date for the u.s.-release is not yet set but i'm counting on a late march early april release. i'm putting the final touch on the american cover.

we are also chancing the live set and will increase the number of performers on stage, from 3 to 5. and we have great ideas for our stage wear. it will be glamorous, delicate and a bit queer if you will. don't want to give away the surprise but i'll put up some photos as soon as possible. on february 17 we will do our first stockholm performance for in a while.

remember, love is tronger than steel.

2006 nov 30 - how long, how long...
...since i last wrote here. i'm so very sorry. 2 months is far too long to be quiet. i promise, it won't happen again. i think i'll seperate this post in three different parts, spain, linköping and right now.

so spain was amazing. i've made so many new friends, travelled all over the country by every transport available except boat and lots and lots of other stuff. you can read all about it on my myspace blog: here. it took me several hours to write it so you better read it... or not, you don't have to.

and linköping, it was great! lovely audience and great sound! just one thing: whoever stole my kazoo, you better use it good. it's not nice to steal other peoples stuff, but if you really had to (it could have been of life and death) i want you to make a song with it or use it in an orchestra or whatever.

right now things is not calming down but i won't do any shows for a while, at least not until next year. i will finally start to record new stuff. i got more or less ten new songs spining in my head and i have to get them out of there cause i can't seem to fit much more in there. i will also record more songs with jenny (pretty in panic), keep an eye out. it's not good, it's wonderful.

i'll write again soon and let you know about the recording progress and the release plan for u.s.a. too.

2006 sep 21 - lloyd cole and a dream coming true
dear friends, today i found out that one of my dreams is about to come true. on october 9 i will perform at södra teatern in stockholm. the second i put my foot in that theatre i knew what i wanted, to be on that stage. it's so beatiful and wonderful. if you've ever been there you know what i'm talking about. and i'm very also honored to be supporting lloyd cole on the swedish part of his october tour. i will accompany him to gothenburg and play at stenhammarsalen in the concert house. and you wouldn't want to miss it if i were you because i'm bringing a cello player and an accordion player to back me up. trust me, it sounds wonderful. i truly want you all to be there on monday when my dream come true.

2006 aug 25 - national radio and reviews
dear friends, tomorrow on saturday you can hear me speak on national radio. pelle gustafsoon from the show p3 lab invited me over for an interview yesterday. it was very nice and hopefully i won't sound as dumb as i am. pelle will also play 3 songs from the album, and i won't tell you which cause then it wouldn't be a surprice! so, tune in tomorrow on 99,3 mhz around 9.03 pm.

finally i have updated and uploaded what seems to be every review made for the album. if you know any other review made please let me know. i would really appreciate it, it's hard to keep track of everything myself. go look under the 'downloads' section.

2006 aug 15 - tomorrow is d-day!!!
i'm too stressed to be nervous about it but it's a fact: tomorrow is the day i been waiting for a long long time. it would be safe to say it's a dream coming true. still it's strange to finally reach such a goal. i don't feel empty, but rather calm and... satisfied. not in the crave type of way. just satisfied and at ease with myself. and tired of course, .. totally tired. so i just wanted to say a few words about tomorrow. and yes i have updated the reviews, quite a few and most often very nice. read them here.

tomorrow, on the release date, i will play live in the very best record store in stockholm and perhaps even in all of sweden, record hunter. and on friday it's time to party!! release party on club pingvin at street in hornstull, stockholm. that's all for now... oh no just forgot, don't forget to but the record (why not here?)!!!
